  7. This object is the Cylon Raider from the universe of the live/model
  8. action TV show BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (late 1970s).  It is based upon a
  9. Monogram model; BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is (tm) Universal City Studios, Inc..
  10.  
  11. Raiders were moderately large starfighters carried by huge Cylon BaseStars.
  12. Cylons were humanoid robots; the crew of a Raider consisted of three Cylon
  13. Centurions (explaining their large size and lack of agility).  They lacked
  14. the acceleration of the opposing Colonial Vipers, but seem to have had
  15. embryonic stealth characteristics; engagements tended to resemble a battle
  16. between a handful of Spitfires and a large swarm of Stukas:  many Raiders
  17. were lost, but they often got through and did damage anyway.

  19. Scale of this object is uncertain, but from the size of the cockpit canopy
  20. I judge it to be about 50mm to one Imagine unit.  It is thus somewhat
  21. larger than most starfighters.
